Vetafarm Avimec 50ml is a veterinary-formulated treatment designed to effectively control Scaly Face Mite (burrowing mites) in birds, particularly budgerigars. These highly contagious mites burrow into featherless areas such as the cere, beak, eyelids, legs and feet, causing painful lesions, deformities and, if left untreated, severe health complications.

Avimec works directly on the mites living on the birds body and is simple to administer. Treatment requires patience and consistency, with multiple applications depending on the severity of the infestation. To prevent reinfection and contain the spread, all birds in the aviary must be treated. As these mites live on the bird, cage treatment is not required.
